The prompt for this week's journal is to discuss the process of solving the challenges on CodingBat.
Sometimes I plan the code that I'm going to write if I need to process the challenge more efficiently. However, with CodingBat I found myself going straight ahead to coding. The first CodingBat exercises felt easier to me as I have already studied Java before. For the second CodingBat exercises, some concepts appeared that I am less versed in and it took more of a struggle. The harder one for me was the Functional exercises as I did not learn this thoroughly in my first 2 years of undergrad. The tries for the first CodingBat exercises were only 1-2, and then for the second maybe 2-3.
So far I am very much enjoying the class and I can't wait to learn more about Java and software engineering!
